A Little Gift For Everyone!

Tue Sep 22, 2009, 10:35 PM
I hit the 3000th pageviews in the morning of 19th September, that’s 172 days since I joined DA. Well it came a bit faster than I expected as I thought I wouldn’t get it within 6 months or more, but I know I wouldn’t make it without the support from all my DA friends from every corner of the world. So much I’ve learned and experienced in the wonderful world of DA, thanks to all of you who have been very kind and helpful by sharing your knowledge and opinion, your excellent artworks as well as contributing any sort of valuable infos, studies, technical approach or even some of your interesting daily experience!

I hereby thank you all again for your support after all these days. As a token of gratitude, I hereby present a little gift for everyone, I know it isn’t a big deal but this what I can offer for this while. So ladies and gentlemen, may I present ---- the 2 downloadable hi-pixel colorful wallpapers of Shohjo-tai, one of the most popular and influential Japanese pop teenage girl group of the golden era of 80’s who pioneered and popularized so many postmodern Japanese cultures such as cosplay, “kuso”, and most notably, the rise of “kawaii shohjo” trend which still going hot until now! For more details regarding Shohjo-tai’s history, you guys may refer to my comments in the 2 deviations. Enjoy!

  • Mood: Joy
  • Listening to: Shohjo-tai!
  • Watching: Shohjo-tai!

Thanks again, I think you mean "shohjo" style,it means "teenage girl". when it comes to boys, it's called "shohnen" which means teenage boys, while little kids are known as "kodomo" style..., I know a little Japanese, not a big deal but can be useful sometimes, haha!

I understand that, Japanese isn't that easy to learn, but we Chinese have more advantage that westerners because the Japanese was in fact originated from Mandarin some thousand years ago. For us Japanese sounds more like an altered and modified Chinese vernacular, even though nowadays most Japanese people don't really admit that (the same goes to Korean as well)but their language system still use a large portion of traditional Mandarin words, notably the kanji version, with the mixture of their own modification. Therefore every Chinese can partially understand most Japanese writing eventhough they don't know japanese, it is done by reckonizing those Mandarin words. If you get a chance to learn Mandarin, which is far more easier-to-learn that Japanese, you will soon discover the identical part between both 2 languages...

indeed japan is famous for copying and assimilating cultures Chinese character, french and English words, replicas of every famous monument in the world. still I'm having a hard enough time memorizing 2000 kangis( the minimum characters required to read a jap book) i dont think i can handle 20,000,000 characters of of chinese., still, along with my computer engineering degree i'm also douing Asian studies so after learning jap i have to learn chinese as well , so I'll get a chance to check it out. you seem to be very versatile with the culture

:iconviktalon:
